The Implementation Radar
ย Can you confidently say that the implementation of innovation within your organization is running optimally? Improving the implementation process requires identifying the factors that influence its success. While conducting a thorough analysis to pinpoint obstacles is a critical first step, transforming this diagnosis into a shared vision that drives meaningful interventions is far more challenging. In daily practice, cooperation often lacks the openness, honesty, and vulnerability necessary to address the root causes of suboptimization. Additionally, there is frequently a lack of knowledge and oversight to tackle these challenges effectively. Last but not least we are often blind for the systemic dynamics going on in a project.ย
Thatโs where our Implementation Radar comes into play. The Radar covers a variety of themes that address both the "hard" and "soft" dimensions of implementation, above and below the waterline of the organizational iceberg. The "hard" side focuses on tangible, measurable aspects of implementation, such as technical elements, systems, procedures, and structures. The "soft" side emphasizes the human and social factors that impact successful implementation, including employee engagement, experienced leadership, communication, change capacity, and organizational culture. It is here where systemic dynamics are playing.ย
This automated tool accelerates the process, reduces costs, and enables a quick, detailed analysis of potential obstacles by mapping out the perspectives of various stakeholders. It enhances the chances of successful implementation outcomes, motivates employees who often work across departmental boundaries.
The insights generated by the Implementation Radar form the basis for a productive dialogue, enabling key individuals from different disciplines to share bottlenecks and find effective solutions. This dialogue is valuable at all stages of an implementation project.
How does the Radar work?
We begin with a systemic analysis of the stakeholders involved in the implementation within your organization. Who is involved, and to what extent? These stakeholders receive a login to our online tool, allowing them to provide in-depth feedback on the implementation themes and anonymously share their perspectives. We carefully analyze this data and present our findings along with a well-considered recommendation. If desired, we facilitate the dialogues between the involved parties to achieve a common understanding and approach.
Finally, we offer support in executing interventions, ensuring that the discussed outcomes translate into actual, positive results.
The Implementation Radar is based on extensive literature research and supported by both qualitative and quantitative studies conducted as part of the Master of Innovation in Healthcare and Welfare at Hogeschool Utrecht. It has been developed with contributions from implementation experts, sector leaders, and innovation specialists with both practical and academic backgrounds to ensure that it remains relevant and practically applicable.
The Key to Effective Implementation: Communicating with Respect
ย
ย The most frequently cited cause of slow or ineffective implementation is related to culture โ essentially, how we connect and interact with one another. Communicating with Respect (CmR) addresses this crucial dimension by fostering a respectful culture where individuals can share openly and with vulnerability what truly matters within a team or department. This approach is essential for creating a climate that enables successful collaboration and drives participative, for all parties meaningful innovation.

What Makes CmR Unique?
CmR provides simple and interactive tools to help teams gain insight into relational dynamics. This leads to increased awareness, a shared language, and collective enthusiasm for addressing daily challenges in the process of change and innovation.
CmR shows teams and individuals how to embrace differences, overcome conflicts and foster an inclusive work environment.
CmR is much more than just a training or theory โ it is a movement. Respect for oneself and others involves gaining a deeper understanding of oneself and truly seeing each other. Respectful communication is about creating authentic connections, practicing empathy, and promoting equality from the different roles and positions we inhabit. This contributes to an effective and enjoyable work environment where sustainable implementation becomes possible.
The Theory Behind Communicating with Respect
The CmR methodology is based on the following five pillars:
- Systemic Work
- Transactional Analysis (TA)
- Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
- Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
- Leary's Rose
CmR takes a solution-focused approach, using these principles to promote authentic and respectful communication. The goal is to create a sustainable climate for innovation and implementation by real connections.
Hybrid and Autonomous Approach
The CmR products have a hybrid and autonomous structure, combining both online and offline components. The products are designed to be followed independently at the userโs own pace. All products are accessible through the CmR online platform.
Products can be customized and aligned with the specific needs of the organization. Together, we can explore the best solutions for the organization and its employees.
